Art to GoGo Scooter Corral Ground Murals Self-Guided Tour

The Anacostia BID welcomes residents and visitors alike to experience and engage in the arts in an innovative way

We’ve brought Go-Go, the official sound of the city, and the visual arts to you in this first of its kind initiative connecting local artists with GoGo legends to transform Anacostia’s scooter corrals into public art.

Launched in the spring of 2021 in conjunction with the 1st anniversary of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s signing the DC GoGo Bill, the premier ground mural was a collaboration of renowned local artist Luis Peralta and Wiley Brown, son of the famed Father of GoGo, innovator Chuck Brown.

Today, you’ll find scooter corral ground murals and dynamic wall murals throughout Anacostia, with more art and collaborations to come!

Create your own public space arts journey and explore Anacostia

Each scooter corral and wall mural artwork have a QR code, so just scan with your mobile phone to create your self-guided tour from the public art around you.

You’ll learn about the artwork, the artists, and the local businesses to enjoy shopping locally along your tour route!
