Exhibitor applications are now open for the 2026 Capital Art Book Fair, taking place Saturday and Sunday, March 28–29, 2026, at Eastern Market’s North Hall on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
Organized by East City Art, the annual fair brings together independent publishers, artists, and collectives whose work centers on books, zines, print publications, and related editions. The event offers a platform for creatives working in publishing-focused practices to connect with audiences and fellow exhibitors in one of the city’s most vibrant arts venues.
Applications are open through February 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST, with notification of acceptance, waitlist status, or non-acceptance sent via email on February 11. Accepted exhibitors must confirm participation and submit the $375 participation fee by February 13 to secure one of the 40 available tables.
Each exhibitor space includes one six-foot table and two folding chairs. Participants should note that the fair is specifically intended for publishing-based work. Vendors selling jewelry, ceramics, paintings, soap, or other craft items are not eligible. The venue also requires that nothing be taped, hooked, or hung on the walls, and exhibitors are responsible for transporting and managing their own materials.
The Capital Art Book Fair focuses primarily on publications, with prints typically representing a smaller portion of exhibitors’ offerings. Artists whose work centers primarily on fine art printmaking may instead consider the DC Print Fair, which is dedicated exclusively to original prints across a range of techniques. In 2026, the DC Print Fair will take place twice—June 6–7 and November 8–9—with applications for the spring event opening February 24.
The full list of participants for the Capital Art Book Fair will be announced publicly on March 2, ahead of the event later that month.
